Double Die Error
For the 1964 D series there was a double die error that you should look for. On the reverse side of the coin some of the letters overlap each other. The letters will be a little wider and you can see the slight overlap where the letters are pressed on top of each other. Sometimes this error is hard to see and it's more noticeable on some coins than on others.
The 1964 D double die error coin is worth around $35 in extremely fine condition. In uncirculated condition the price is around $100 for coins with an MS 63 grade. Uncirculated coins with a grade of MS 65 can sell for around $160.
Grading System
Extremely fine- The lines of the hair, flame, and torch look very plain.
MS 63 choice uncirculated- In the major focal areas there are some blemishes or contact marks. The coin's luster might not be as prominent.
MS 65 gem uncirculated- There is strong luster and eye appeal. A few light contact marks may be present but they are barely noticeable.
PR 65 proof- There are no flaws to this coin. A few blemishes may be present.

Additional Info: There are double dies reverse errors in 1964 for the Franklin D. Roosevelt. The error can be found on the reverse. Look at the words America with a magnifying glass. If it is a double die you should see a doubling of the letters. The errors are worth between 50-170 dollars USD. These coins are all 90% silver.
Numismatic vs Intrinsic Value:This coin in poor condition is still worth $1.03 more than the intrinsic value from silver content of $1.97, this coin is thus more valuable to a collector than to a silver bug.
